PERCENTAGE MASS COMPOSITION
We can easily calculate the mass percentage
of an element in a compound by "tricking" the calculator. For example,
suppose we want to know the mass percentage of H in NH4ClO3.
Solution:
-Enter the equation N+H+Cl+O=>NH4ClO3 and SUBMIT it.
-Enter 100 in the grams column of NH4ClO3 and hit the STEPPER (CALCULATE)
button.
-Read the grams column of H and take that as the percentage mass. (3.97)
