PRACTICE BALANCING EQUATIONS

You can invoke a balance simulator when you SUBMIT a chemical equation followed by a ? sign. It provides a complete breakdown of the equation but you may just focus on the ? column it displays to see which elements are balanced. You can then add or modify the coefficients in the equation and SUBMIT it again to see if you improved the balance. You may even use fractions for the coefficients to try to balance the equation. For example if you had H3 on one side of the equation and H5 on the other side, you could use the coefficient 5/3 H3. You may continue changing coefficients until the equation is balanced.
